Job Postings

Unique job postings dropped slightly in 2023 compared to 2022, with monthly postings following a seasonal pattern.

From 2020 to 2023, online job postings followed a seasonal pattern with the most postings in the spring and the least in December, except for 2020.

  • Since January 2021, March 2022 had the most online job postings, with 10, 718 jobs listed. The least was in December 2022, with only 4,412 job postings.
  • In 2020, because of COVID-19, there was a big drop in online job postings, down to an average of 4,320 per month.
  • In 2021, things started to improve, with an average of 6,688 online job postings each month. Then, in 2022 it went up to 8,671 per month, but fell in 2023 to 8,432 per month.

Job Postings by Occupation

Even though overall job postings declined in 2023 compared to 2022, some occupations had increased demand, including healthcare

  • The overall number of new jobs posted online decreased by 2.8% in 2023 compared to 2022.
  • Online job postings decreased in all occupational categories except: 
    • Education, law and social, community and government services, where they increased by 40.1%
    • Health, where they increased by 15.8%, and
    • Management, where they increased 15.3%, 
  • Usually, jobs with higher job vacancy rates, high turnover, and/or requirements for hard to find qualifications may show high levels of online job postings compared to others.
